Quite bright aromatics with wild hedgerow aromas – bilberry, cranberry, blackcurrant leaf, liquorice and tobacco. Grippy but also full of life and mouthwatering acidity, this has really great energy. Still a little compact no doubt, the tannins really making their mark, but there’s fruit purity and clarity with a long, still quite intense and concentrated finish. No lightness here at all. Elegant and finessed yet still such a powerful wine. Will be interesting to follow this over ageing. All wines organic, second vintage certified. A yield of 25hl/ha. Ageing 50% new oak.
The 2025 La Cabanne is a big, racy wine. Layers of dark red cherry/plum fruit, blood orange, spice, cedar and cloves flesh out in the glass. This is an especially rich, flamboyant Cabanne, but all the elements are so nicely balanced. Hints of mocha, pomegranate, leather and tobacco appear with time, rounding things out with style. La Cabanne is a big wine in 2025—still, its harmony and poise are beyond reproach. Bravo.
Chocolate, coconut, plums, and cherries fill the perfume and the bright, crisp, juicy palate. Medium-bodied, vibrant, and lifted, the wine is elegant and refined. The wine is produced from 94% Merlot, with 6% Cabernet Franc. Drink from 2028-2047.
