Château d’Aiguilhe hører til Stephan von Neippergs Bordeaux-portefølje sammen med Canon La Gaffelière, La Mondotte, Clos de l’Oratoire og Clos Marsalette. Slottet blev købt af von Neipperg i 1998 og er i dag en af de mest synlige adresser i Castillon-Côtes de Bordeaux. Ejendommen dækker 140 hektar, hvoraf 90 er beplantet med vin, og markerne ligger på plateauet med sydvendt eksponering og naturlig dræning.

2025 er 80% Merlot og 20% Cabernet Franc, høstet fra 6. til 22. september. Det er en vin, der i anmeldermaterialet tydeligt læses gennem kalken. Perrotti-Brown beskriver friske blåbær, kirsch, rosenknop-te, tørret lavendel og fugtig jord, med kalket tekstur, frisk syre og røde bær i afslutningen. Beck peger samme vej: ler-kalkens friskhed viser sig i kridtede nuancer og frisk frugt, efterfulgt af en tæt åbning, energi, vitalitet og friskhed. Hans drikkevindue er 2028-2043.

Galloni ser en rigere side af Aiguilhe 2025 med rød-lilla frugt, lavendel, sort peber, rosenblade, kanel, nyt læder og blodappelsin. Han fremhæver både teksturel dybde og energi, men noterer også at tanninerne skal have lidt tid til at blødgøre. Neal Martin er mere afdæmpet og finder næsen noget lukket på dette stadie, men paletten samler sig pænt med kalkede tanniner, lineær form, sapiditet og moderat længde.

The wine is made from 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. 13.5% ABV. Drink from 2028-2042.

    Deep purple-hued, the 2025 Château D'Aiguilhe is based on 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc from very old vines and aging in 20% new oak. It has a classic limestone-driven profile in its red and black fruits, sappy flowers, and chalky minerality. On the palate, it's medium-bodied, with a pure, balanced, elegant mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and good acidity.

    The 2025 d'Aiguilhe offers up a heady concoction of red/purplish fruit, lavender, black pepper, rose petal, cinnamon, new leather and blood orange. There's gorgeous textural depth here, but also plenty of energy to complement the wine's fruit intensity and overall richness. The tannins will need a bit of time to soften.
