Clos La Gaffelière er Saint-Émilion Grand Cru fra samme familie som Château La Gaffelière, og 2025-udgaven placerer sig i den nøgterne, klassiske ende af appellationen. Her er pointen ikke stor gestik, men en vin der ifølge anmelderne samler frugt, struktur og friskhed ganske klart.

Suckling beskriver vinen som medium til fyldig, struktureret og udtryksfuld, med faste, finkornede tanniner, dyb mørk frugt og en diskret salt tone i afslutningen. Det er en note, der peger på en vin med mere ramme end pynt.

Martin ser en anden side af samme vin: brambly rød frugt, ribs, appelsinskal og en ubesværet aromatisk præcision. På paletten fremhæver han saftig rød frugt, kalkede tanniner, fin balance og et strejf af surkirsebær i afslutningen. Hans “Worth seeking out” er lavmælt, men værd at notere.

Det gør Clos La Gaffelière 2025 til en relevant Saint-Émilion for køberen, der gerne vil have appellationen uden at gå direkte til de store navne. En vin med tydelig årgangsplacering og nok struktur til at vente på, at flasken falder på plads fra 2028 og videre.

The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, chalky tannins, nicely balanced, with a touch of sour cherry on the finish. Worth seeking out. 13.6% alcohol.
